Be Tough yet Gentle in Spirit

Be tough in life by being courageous, yet be gentle in your Spirit. May the Lord give you a gentle heart and well-spoken tongue to yourself and others. These words the Lord gave me many years ago when I was in darkness. God's Spirit taught me to be gentle just as He did to me despite of the pain I've been through. Since then, I have decided to name my website as Be tough yet gentle in Spirit.

Obedience Matters

Serving others is primarily a selfless act of obedience to God. Serving is not thinking more about you. It is more about Jesus that through your service others may see the heart of Jesus. Sometimes, it brings you to a place of sacrifice.

It is not about looking what others can do to you. It is about asking yourself on what you can do for others. Not on your comfort but for them.

Obedience matters. It is  heart of humility to God.

Servant Heart

A heart of a servant is a willing heart, not a complaining heart neither a resentful one. But a willing heart to go on the process and embraces pain. Willing to learn and grow even if the process is unbearable. Willing to wait with forbearance. Willing to be changed by God.

If we are willing, it shows our submission to the will of God. I always say this, willingness is the key to obedience. And it bears the Fruit of the Spirit in us.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23

Water of Life

God reveals Himself in unprecedented time and awkward situation. Just as Jesus revealed Himself to the woman at the well, in an awkward moment and isolation. He knew the life of the woman, yet He came and offer to her the living water.

“Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:13-14, NKJV.

When someone you know is hurting and tries to isolate themselves because of the shame and guilt, reach out and show them the love of Christ. It brings me to tears knowing someone struggles and left alone from people whom they expect to be there for them.

Be a salt and light to someone who is in darkness. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16, NKJV.
